Keeping with my apparent theme I’ve started creating a little bit of bumblebee art. This one is drawn free hand and created using Arteza brush pens and Windsor Newton black ink. I’m really happy with how the wings turned out. I used a very diluted ice blue colour to create a transparent effect.
Hello friends, I mentioned in an earlier post that I had a little meltdown over Covid-19, I’ve always suffered with anxiety but everything happening in the world made it so bad, much, much worse than its ever been.
So here’s me being brave and talking about how I feel…with some pretty pictures at the end.
Happy Friday friends. This is a little bit of a then and now post. Some recent doodles and an old one to compare together.
These were drawings I did (along with about one hundred others) in 2020-2021 during the pandemic. I bought a set of Arteza brush pens – which are amazing and got into the habit of drawing something everyday. I do feel the yellow one is way too much like Spyro, so maybe not purple and yellow in the future!
This week I thought I’d share some photo editing that I’ve been trying out. We’re approaching autumn and I wondered what such bright and vibrant summer pictures would be like if the were black and white.
They’re beautiful in colour of course, being so bright and vibrant but in black and white it really highlights the shape of the actual bee against the flower and hides any imperfections in the petals.
I particularly love the picture on the right and the way the wing details of the bee are really highlighted. It makes me want to go ‘AHH SO PRETTY.’ I totally love how a half decent camera and bright sunny daylight with a little editing can make any picture interesting and lovely.
Today I thought I’d show you some of my recent doodles, I love anything fantasy related and will happily sit and draw dragons all day long!
I like to start with a very rough (and faint) pencil drawing and then go back and add the main details. Recently I drew two different dragon eye close ups.
Hello wonderful friends, I’ve put together a little collection of bee related pictures that I’ve taken this year. Due to Covid-19 I spent a lot more time in the garden and tried to encourage as much nature as I could. Bees have always been really special to me they are such clever little creatures and I try my hardest to take care of them and grow as many flowers as possible.
Enjoy some warm and happy summer colours and plenty of bees…
I decided to grow sunflowers because they’re one of my favourites and yellow is the colour I love most. it really didn’t take much for the bees to arrive.
The bees themselves were incredibly camera friendly and by the end of the summer I was able to get super close to them, at one point I was sitting amongst the veggies I was growing with a bee on the top of my head – it didn’t sting me just sat there for a few minutes and then flew away.
So, I haven’t posted anything for an age…lots has been happening…what with life surrounding Covid-19 I kinda had a mini breakdown and couldn’t cope with the thought of going online, but I’m planning to rectify that and try to post two or three times a week. I want to completely overhaul how I blog and share more of my thoughts.
