Hello friends!
The sun is here, the sky is blue and I’ve got a One frame to share with you! (Oooh that rhymed!!). I’ve had a mini break from the blog to go on adventures and find things to snap…
I actually managed to click the button on my camera at the right moment and captured (in my opinion) a pretty awesome shot of two Small white butterflies mating, its in focus an’ everything and I’m super pleased! The composition of this photograph is pretty good colour wise and the butterflies are dead centre!
Small White (Pieris rapae) butterflies are also known as a cabbage butterfly, people use insecticides and treat these beautiful creatures as pests because they eat their cabbages! For this reason I’ve actually added cabbages to my Wildspace pollinator garden this year just for them and the bigger Large White (who have also laid eggs on my nasturtium flowers.) What has been really lovely is that there have been so many of them fluttering around the garden.
Also I genuinely didn’t know that cabbages and nasturtiums are part of the same plant family!
I really hope you like this photo and that my nature filled posts spread a little bit of happiness. Do you have a favourite bug? They are magical creatures and I love watching them.
As always thanks for reading and have a wonderful week!
Ps. You can actually continue singing the first last with – its stopped raining, da da da-la-la, stopped ray-ai-ning outside! – it was a real song called ‘Raining in my heart’ by Buddy Holly ?!
That is the most stunning Cabbage White photo I’ve ever seen!
